The short answer: Lightning is an improved version of Salesforce Classic that focuses on user experience. The name Lightning isn’t just to sound cool. Like the natural phenomenon, the Lightning platform is fast, and no two are the same. Lightning allows users to customize what they see and give them quick access to productivity notes, clear dashboards, and report views. It also allows users to have the same experience on desktop and mobile as they take Salesforce on the road. Lightning makes using Salesforce easier and more efficient for every user in a company.
