The Outcome

Ivanti solution

The SOW ramp plan did not take into account all of the complexity the business wanted to customize with CPQ. There also were a lot of unanticipated process changes which thankfully Change Management and Training had been brought in the picture to support with the system launch. Despite the tight timeline, the OCM resources were able to support the change practice through oversight and working with the PM and client to push some of the change effort to the client. The OCM perspective is particularly useful for an enterprise project like Ivanti because there is a significant amount of alignment needed from stakeholders in order for the users to adopt CPQ. The partnership between CM and the PM kept the delivery able to move forward with user story questions as well as clear expectations on stakeholder responsibilities with UAT and training so we had a successful launch.

It was a big leap for Ivanti to make this investment in Change Management and it paid off. Even though this was an IT project, fifty percent of our success of Project Odyssey was due to Change Management.
