Snowforce brings Salesforce to the Silicon Slopes

Feb 4, 2016 | Admin, Latest News, Sales Cloud

What has white hot knowledge one day then boasts an 83-inch base with 77 runs the next? It’s Snowforce 2016, the pre-eminent Mountain West event for all things Salesforce. Now celebrating its fifth year, event organizers Daniel Hoechst (@dhoechst) and Evan Johnson (@EvanSFDC) say this year’s Snowforce, to be held Feb. 25th and 26th, will be the best one yet!

With over 15 years of collective experience in the Salesforce community, Daniel and Evan know that Salesforce users come with all levels and abilities. They are excited to present a user group event with expert speakers from across the country that is comprehensive, educational, and motivational. They have seen growth in this event every year–quite a change from its humble beginnings five years ago.

“This started as an excuse to go skiing,” explained Daniel, the Utah Developer User Group Leader. “I would have friends visit from out of state to attend a user group session; then they would want to hit the slopes.” As this tradition grew, Daniel’s friends suggested they expand this outing into a fun all-day destination event. Last year, 175 people attended the event with 30 taking advantage of Solitude Ski Resort’s fresh powder.

While this year’s snowfall is sure to beckon techie ski bums from all over, Daniel emphasized that you don’t have to ski to enjoy this event, adding that they reserve a large meeting room at the resort and provide games and activities. “This is a great community event, and we think this year will be bigger than ever,” he added.

Snowforce is for Everyone

Don’t be fooled by the snowpack, Snowforce ‘16 provides the perfect opportunity to learn all about the Salesforce platform. “Snowforce is for everyone,” said Evan, Utah user group co-leader. “We have many different tracks available.” Traditionally, Snowforce offers expert hands-on instruction in the admin and developer tracks.
“We are hoping to branch out and reach people that may not have seen a reason to go until now,” said Evan. “This event is for anybody who uses Salesforce and can benefit from the knowledge this can give.”

Neither Daniel nor Evan take this time for instruction lightly and have scheduled heavyweight leaders who are helping show how Salesforce changes how to interact with their customers.

The Snowforce Tracks

The Admin Track will offer different sessions for varying skill levels. “You don’t have to be an advanced admin to get something from this class,” assured Evan. “We offer basic sessions to get you going and get you excited about what Salesforce can do.”

The Developer Track will host expert David Liu to discuss an introduction to coding, among other topics, and Salesforce CTO Charlie Isaacs will take the mic to talk about anything he wants. (He’s that good.)

The new UX Workshop will be hosted by two UX researchers from Salesforce, who are prepared to provide some hands-on training. This workshop will really help admins understand how to improve their users’ experiences.

The Executive Track will explore a variety of topics including ways to maximize your investment in Salesforce in the workplace.

The first day’s session will conclude with motivational keynote speaker Dr. Craig Manning.

Day two means bonding with the brahs for some local pow.
