What do you do at Simplus?
I am a Solutions Architect on a large healthcare project.
What are some achievements of which you are most proud? Both professionally and personally.
Personally, I am proud that I have had the opportunity to complete several challenges on my bucket list, such as running a few full marathons, hiking the West Coast Trail, and surviving the Inca Trail in Peru.
Professionally, I’m proud that I have been able to enter the Salesforce ecosystem and rise to my current role in three years, plus being nominated for the Underdog Award at Simplus and winning the Hitter in the Ranks award during my first year at Simplus, which was wholeheartedly unexpected! I am also proud to be the SME for a large piece on a large healthcare project.
What are your hobbies?
I love camping, hiking, photography, and cycling around town (anything done outdoors!). I used to moonlight as a wedding photographer! And I just completed my first 100km bike “race” in Bellingham.
Why do you like working at Simplus?
I love working at Simplus because of the people! The support and trust of the project team are some of the best, and the Simplus members are an absolute joy to work with. The work is challenging, but I always have the support I need.
Tell us a little bit about your professional background.
After graduating from university with a degree in computer science, I became a middleware specialist. After working with consultants who flew into town every week, I was intrigued by the consulting lifestyle. I joined a small software company based in Vancouver as an implementation consultant and traveled North America extensively, meeting new people and seeing places I’d never thought I’d visit. I then joined a Salesforce SI in 2019 and quickly learned the ropes of Salesforce, which I have enjoyed ever since.
What do you feel are your greatest contributions that help make Simpus the best consulting firm?
Working on a large healthcare project and becoming the trusted SME in Service Cloud Voice while gaining the trust of customers has been exciting and humbling. Also, bringing my expertise in Service Cloud and consulting skills to Simplus with a positive attitude (we will prevail!) has been fun and rewarding.
If you are playing Two Truths and a Lie, what answers stump people every time?
I shared a scene with George Takei in an AMC horror series.
Congrats, Ryan! Thanks for being part of what makes Simplus the best!
