23 Sep Meet Hannah Points — Simplus’ September Employee Feature
This month’s featured employee is Hannah Points! Hannah is making waves as one of Simplus’ leading senior consultants in Oracle. We wanted to learn more about this Northwestern University graduate, who swam her way through college as a Big Ten Finalist while earning a degree in mechanical engineering.
As part of our Portland, Oregon, team, Hannah is a tremendous asset to Simplus. And here are some of the reasons why:
What do you do at Simplus?
I’m a senior consultant working primarily in the Oracle practice. I’m going through Conga training now so I can be available (and more knowledgeable) for more CLM projects in the future.
What are some achievements of which you are most proud? Both professionally and personally.
I am proud of my athletic achievements and that I was able to use that to put myself through college and earn the degree I wanted from the school I wanted.
What are your hobbies?
Hiking, traveling, cooking, coaching (third year working with high schoolers, and it’s much better than I was expecting!), arts and crafts… I’m sure there are more!
Why do you like working at Simplus?
It’s a great group of people. Everyone I’ve worked with is technically very knowledgeable and willing to jump in to help on a moment’s notice if needed. I would say we have a positive group morale, which can be especially tricky with people spread all around the country and the world. I am also thankful for the flexible work schedule. It has allowed me to take up coaching, and it’s been really fun to give back to the next generation of young athletes.
Tell us a little bit about your professional background.
My degree is in mechanical engineering, but I chose to pursue a career in software/design upon graduation, and I love working with people. I have been working with the Oracle CPQ platform since 2012 in various roles at various companies. Now, I am starting to branch out to other related platforms (SFDC, Conga).
What do you feel are your greatest contributions that help make Simplus the best consulting firm?
I like to think that my “unique” contribution to the Oracle practice is an eye for UX design. It’s a fairly undervalued aspect of the development process but has great potential to add a lot of value.
If you are playing Two Truths and a Lie, what answers stump people every time?
I have a black belt in TaeKwonDo. And I have competed in the US Olympic team trials.
Congratulations to Hannah Points for being September’s featured employee. We are swimmingly happy that you are part of the Simplus work family.
